Spending Accounts
A savings account enables you to put aside money for health care or dependent care expenses — and reduce your income taxes. Convergint offers two types of spending accounts: a Health Savings Account (HSA) and a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

Health Savings Account (HSA)
An HSA, or Health Savings Account, is our tax-advantaged savings account, through Optum Bank, you can use to pay for qualified medical, dental and vision expenses and save for current and future healthcare costs. Unused money in your HSA is not forfeited at the end of the year; it continues to grow tax-deferred and is owned by you.
The maximum contribution for 2025 is $4,300 for self-only coverage or up to $8,550 for family coverage. Participants who are 55 years of age or older can contribute an additional $1,000 annually.
Eligibility:
To contribute, you must be enrolled in UHC Plan C or BCBS Alaska HSA Plan. Both are high-deductible health plans (HDHP). If you are enrolled in a Medicare A or B plan, you are not eligible for an HSA.
Employer Contribution:
-
$12.50 per month for Single Medical Plan C enrollees HSA account
-
$25 per month for Family Medical Plan C enrollees HSA account
Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
An FSA, or Flexible Spending Account, is an employer-sponsored benefit plan that allows you to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for eligible medical expenses and dependent care expenses. CBIZ provides FSA benefits to Convergint colleagues.
FSAs operate on a "use it or lose it" principle. Typically, funds contributed to an FSA must be used within the plan year. Eligible participants can contribute up to $3,300 per family per year for qualified medical expenses.
Our FSA plan year for contributing funds is 12 months, January 1 - December 31. Each plan year ends December 31, and the deadline for submitting reimbursements is March 31.
Eligibility:
If you decline company medical coverage or enroll in a non-HSA medical plan, you are eligible for an FSA.
